The 2011 Redwood Ranch Sauvignon Blanc shows bright clarity and pale intensity in appearance with a core color of pale straw leading to a water rim. The developing nose is clean and of medium intensity, showing aromas of lime, banana, pineapple and honeysuckle. The palate mimics the nose with an additional note of lemon meringue, a supple, medium plus body, and medium plus acidity that is lively and refreshing. A gravel-like riverbed minerality shows in the finish along with a stray/hay-like grassiness. This wine will pair well with rich, creamy cheeses or with fresh shellfish.
